Even if the words elicit strong disagreement, I think it’s positive to turn this stuff over in our minds. I’m thinking really only about the work these days, how to get better, and love to hear from anyone who is aligning with that. Gear discussions to me are a snooze.
Exactly! Part of why our hangouts are enjoyable (at least for me 😅) is that we get to chat and think and challenge each other a bit , but always in a fun and friendly way. That type of dialogue is the best kind (selfishly at least) for my own growth. I have to think and consider other POVs, and that consideration is a constant way of checking in with my own POV and seeing how it might be evolving over time.
We're always both working towards just being the best at our thing and finding the best way of sharing and connecting with other likeminded peeps.
I can't really remember the last time we truly talked gear - it's always about process and intent. love that. 🤙🏼

Yeah, I assume I’m not the exception to this but I subscribe to those who I genuinely want to hear from, see their photos and read their words. If only to ensure that this place doesn’t turn into another Instagram. I get it though, it’s hard to gauge here sometimes if anything is cutting through even with dedicated subscribers. Commenting and conversing is the least we can do IMO, particularly if something vibes.
One of the things that’s so rewarding about this place right now is that when you scroll your feed it’s not advertisement after advertisement. Instagram for me right now is an ad every two or three posts, and then a bunch of garbage like people slipping on ice and falling or something like that. They’ve turned it into complete trash. Then again I guess that’s what everybody wants so maybe we are the ones who have turned it into trash 🫣 - definitely don’t wanna do that here.
Words of wisdom. Sometimes I hashtag my gear because I like to search hashtags to find photogs who shoot
similar gear. Questionable I know, but not a flex or wanting to be a salesperson nor ambassador. Just a way to find kinship. Also: film has become too expensive for me now--talk about consumerism 🤷🏻
